Meet the Q1 2026 Get Nearshored Grant Winners: Three Brands Building Closer to Home

After another wave of standout applications from founders rethinking how and where they make their products, we're proud to announce the winners of our Q1 2026 Get Nearshored Grant. These three entrepreneurs are building brands rooted in identity, intention, and care — and they're bringing their manufacturing closer to home to do it.

Skinfirmations

Barrier science, finally written for you

Dr. Victoria Dooley spent years as a physician watching patients with melanated skin have their concerns minimized, misunderstood, or dismissed. Then it became personal. After surviving breast cancer, radiation damaged her own skin barrier, and a long-standing fragrance sensitivity she'd flagged for years went repeatedly overlooked — the very signal her body had been sending all along.

She built Skinfirmations at the intersection of clinical training and lived experience, designing every formulation with Fitzpatrick III–VI skin as the starting population, not an afterthought. Her debut product, PLUMP, is a Barrier Support Concentrate calibrated for the biology of deeper skin tones: fragrance-free, clinically dosed, and built to address inflammation and barrier disruption before discoloration ever appears.

A Newborn Nest

Their first moments, your first memories

Heidi Mattek built A Newborn Nest around a single conviction: a baby's first hours in the world deserve more than an afterthought. Her curated hospital welcome sets — knotted newborn gowns, skin-to-skin onesies, swaddle blankets, and matching mommy robes — have become the go-to for parents who want those earliest moments to feel as intentional as they are irreplaceable. Recommended by more than 1,500 families, A Newborn Nest has carved out a category all its own: the newborn gift actually designed for the hospital stay.

Mygani

Handbags celebrating community and culture

Felicia Wright spent 25 years as a graphic designer before channeling that visual fluency into something deeply personal. Growing up as a young Black girl navigating the distance between how she saw herself and how the world saw her, she built Mygani to close that gap — with bold, culture-forward handbags and accessories designed to make women of color feel empowered and seen. The brand has built a devoted following, caught the eye of Tabitha Brown, and landed a coveted spot at the Essence Festival SOKO Market.
